| Résumé: | This degree project explores NOMOPHOBIA, understood as the fear, anxiety, or discomfort that can arise when a person does not have access to their cell phone or loses their data signal (Yildirim and Correia, 2015). Building on this contemporary issue, NOMOPHOBIA was developed: a psychological thriller short film featuring unconventional and, to a certain extent, supernatural elements, which invites reflection on how dependence on devices such as cell phones can affect behavior, mood, and psychological well-being, and even family bonds. The story centers on Sofía, a sixteen-year-old girl who goes through an increasingly unsettling night after her parents put their phones away in a metal box following dinner. This opens the door to a reality that begins to be perceived in a different way. The research takes a psychological and artistic approach. It draws on documentary sources, cinematographic references, and tests using generative artificial intelligence tools. ChatGPT served to organize ideas and instructions; Nano Banana helped maintain visual continuity; Google Flow and Higgsfield made it possible to create shots, sequences, and camera movements; and Flow Music, together with Artlist, contributed music and atmospheres. All of these tools were guided by the director's decisions. The project sought to demonstrate that artificial intelligence can expand the possibilities of cinema when there is a human vision capable of giving it intention, emotion, and meaning. |
