Abstract

Rice activity in the country is a source of work and income for small farmers who are engaged in this activity. The present research aims to study the income and saving of small rice farmers in the Daule canton to determine reinvestment capacity. The method applied in the research is the descriptive one with an approach of the critical partner paradigm with the method of the action of the paper, where it is sought the participation of the involved ones to identify the problems and to construct a proposal of transformation of the problems. Information was collected from primary sources such as surveys and interviews with the leaders of local rice associations and farmers in the Daule canton. As a conclusion, the main conclusion is that most of the small farmers in the Daule canton tend to have the capacity to have a saving capacity and therefore no type of reinvestment, keeping this vulnerable group and often on the sidelines. It is also an in vestigation that stands out as a project that investigates the small rice farmer in a manner appropriate to the implementation of measures focused on the needs of farmers that allow an improvement in their quality of life.
