Abstract: The acute calculus cholecystitis is inflammation of the gallbladder, located behind the liver, which is produced by an obstacle in the bacine or biliary tract, thus producing an accumulation of bile and subsequent increase of intraluminal pressure, Producing an inflammatory and obstructive picture of acute cholecystitis (1); Whose surgic al approach has two access routes, the first conventional procedure performed by Langerbuch and the laparoscopic procedure described in 1987 by Philippe Mouret, whose choice will depend on different factors. . An observational and retrospective study was carried out, where appendectomies were performed, using a laparoscopy approach, with a total of 161 patients, where 62 (38.5%) were submitted to a conventional technique and 99 ( 61.5%) by laparoscopic technique and a small group of 4 (2.5%) surgery was performed; The hospital stay and complications were compared according to the type of approach used. It was concluded that there is a greater presentation of complications and a higher incidence of infection of the approach site, by the open technique, which is why it is recommended to use laparoscopy to approach this pathology.
