Abstract

This essay aims to find the metafictional resources in the novel La desfiguración Silva by Mónica Ojeda that alter or establish a fake story and transgress the official history, establishing, within its plot, a conflict over the social imaginary and the author-work relation, being, in this case, an author who never existed: the tzánzico character of Gianella Silva. This essay also studies how this novel, through an essayistic, fictional, biographical and historiographical strategy, makes the different points be linked as to how the rewriting of history (and, at the same time, fiction) can move reading mechanisms that reveal that life could be changed in favour of fiction and, likewise, shown as a work of art, a metafiction which the reader completes.
