Abstract

"Esteban's feat: An invisible loner" a case where a journey was made through aspects that account for a neurotic structure in modality: male hysteria. The objective of the case analysis was to describe, analyze, interpret, and argue, from the theory, the subject's statements, which allowed locating the subjective position, to establish a possible diagnostic hypothesis. The theoretical approach used was the psychoanalytic one through which theoretical constructs such as trauma, phantasm, master signifiers, symptom, jouissance, desire were approached, which are dynamized from the clinical structure of the 28-year-old patient whose history refers to a childhood and adolescence, which revolve around abandonment, not feeling recognized before the maternal figure and the questioning of her sexual orientation. For the study of this case the clinical method was used, where the word is given place through floating attention and free association, managing to identify Esteban's particular way of doing with the lack, and whose phantasm and jouissance respond to the hysterical modality of placing himself as a degraded object, which is manifested in his discourse composed of memories and dreams.
