Abstract

There is no doubt that Higher Education contributes directly to the development of today's society; and it is evident that today, state policies allow their best academic development. This research work highlights not only the aforementioned aspect but also the component that links the University with the community, that is, with the necessary projects to be implemented. The evolution of this component is identified and the contribution it provides is emphasized; however, there are gaps when the theory is compared with the current state of a Higher Education Institution. Therefore, a management model is proposed to improve the quality of the processes of engagement with the community at the University of the city of Guayaquil. This is why the relevance of this work is emphasized, also in its actuality. The proposed model is feasible because it responds to the need for improvement, which makes this scientific research a true contribution and means of consultation for future explorations at this academic level.
