Abstract

The present work has as its purpose the analysis of the case “Miriam as an instrumental appendix of the existence of others. The case tells the story of Miriam, a 40-year-old patient who comes to the session as a result of a constant feeling of “anguish” that appears when her husband becomes unemployed and she is the one who must take care of the household finances, which prevents her from saving money for any catastrophe that may occur. As the sessions go by, elements emerge that show Miriam's position as a caregiver and supporter of others. Serving as an instrument so that the others satisfy her demands, allowing to construct a diagnostic hypothesis of hysterical neurosis.
