| Résumé: | This article embarks on a journey through Ecuadorian cinematography to discover the evolution of its fictional audiovisual narratives. Starting from the milestone of Ratas, ratones y rateros, and passing important marks such as the incorporation of the National Film Promotion Act, it is possible to identify narrative trends over the last 20 years, reaching in 2014 the current trend characterized by genre cinema. To this end, an inventory of Ecuadorian fictional cinematographic works from 1999 to 2019 was built, which allows 3 narrative trends to be glimpsed: the reign of rats (dirty or social realism) from 1999 to 2005; a shift towards intimacy (intimate drama) from 2006 to 2013; and from 2014 to 2019 a shift towards film genres where a boil is evident in a variety of proposals. In this third trend the performance of the films is analyzed in terms of their respective genre, discovering those novel or re resigned elements with which they contribute to Ecuadorian cinematography, a cinema that is still in the processes of experimentation, but that gradually gets over itself. |
| Description: | El presente artículo se embarca en un recorrido por la cinematografía ecuatoriana para descubrir la evolución de sus narrativas audiovisuales de ficción. Partiendo desde el hito de Rata, ratones y rateros, y pasando por puntos importantes como la incorporación de la Ley de fomento del cine nacional, se logra identificar tendencias narrativas a lo largo de los últimos 20 años, llegando en 2014 a la tendencia actual caracterizada por el cine de género. Para ello, se construyó un inventario de las obras cinematográficas de ficción ecuatorianas de 1999 a 2019, que permite vislumbrar 3 tendencias narrativas: el reinado de las ratas (realismo sucio o social) de 1999 a 2005; un vuelco hacia la intimidad (drama intimista) de 2006 a 2013; y de 2014 a 2019 un giro hacia los géneros cinematográficos donde se evidencia una ebullición en variedad de propuestas. En esta tercera tendencia se analizó el desempeño de las cintas en términos de su respectivo género, descubriendo aquellos elementos novedosos o resignificados con los que contribuyen a la cinematografía ecuatoriana, un cine que aún se encuentra en procesos de experimentación, pero que de a poco se supera. |
