Poesía confesional y manifestaciones de violencia en las dos versiones de Ariel de Sylvia Plath.

Abstract

The literary trend called confessional poetry or Confessionalism, which emerged in the United States in the 20th century, exhibited several authors, including Sylvia Plath. However, there are few studies in Spanish regarding this author, therefore, this research object interprets the manifestations of violence in her latest collection of poems, Ariel, and the two existing versions of it (one published in 1965 and the other in 2004), which starts from the categorization and dissection of the violent images that make up the collection of poems. This work deepens into the texts of the last years of the author's life (1961, 1962 and 1963) in a study intertwined between her poetics and her biographical conflicts. The method applied for the study is hermeneutical, which allowed an analysis from meanings, symbols, background and context that revolved around Plath's lyrical production. In the process, it was discovered that the author used violence as a vehicle to poetize the domestic and social problems parallel to her life.
